Uganda Pavilion Attracts Strong Interest at Beijing International Cultural and Tourism Consumption Expo 2026
Beijing, China – June 5, 2026 — The 4th Beijing International Cultural and Tourism Consumption Expo 2026 officially opened today at the China National Convention Center Phase II, bringing together exhibitors, tourism stakeholders, cultural organizations, and businesses from around the world to showcase diverse tourism destinations, cultural heritage, and consumer products.
The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in China organized and coordinated Uganda’s participation in the prestigious exhibition, inviting a number of Ugandan enterprises to exhibit the country’s exceptional tourism attractions, rich cultural heritage, investment opportunities, and premium export products.
The Uganda Pavilion emerged as one of the standout attractions on the opening day, drawing large numbers of visitors eager to learn more about Uganda’s unique offerings. Guests explored displays highlighting Uganda’s breathtaking natural landscapes, diverse wildlife, cultural traditions, handcrafted products, coffee, and other value-added products that reflect the country's growing presence in international markets.
The pavilion received enthusiastic praise from visitors, industry professionals, and potential business partners, with many commending the quality of Uganda’s exhibits and the diversity of products on display. The strong public interest and positive reception positioned the Uganda Pavilion among the highlights of the exhibition.
Speaking on the occasion, Oliver Wonekha, Ambassador of the Republic of Uganda to China, emphasized the importance of cultural and tourism exchanges in strengthening bilateral relations between Uganda and China. She noted that Uganda's participation in the Expo provides a valuable opportunity to showcase the country's unique tourism attractions, vibrant cultural heritage, and high-quality products to the Chinese market and the wider international community.
Ambassador Wonekha further highlighted the Embassy’s commitment to promoting Uganda as a preferred destination for tourism, trade, and investment, while creating opportunities for Ugandan enterprises to establish partnerships and expand their market reach in China.
The Embassy commended the participating Ugandan enterprises for their dedication and professionalism in representing Uganda at the Expo. Their presence reflects Uganda’s growing engagement with international markets and supports ongoing efforts to deepen economic and cultural cooperation between Uganda and China.
