Uganda Showcases Premium Coffee at the 2026 Hainan International Coffee Expo in China

HAIKOU, Hainan Province — 14 August 2026: The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing, in partnership with the Consulate General of Uganda in Guangzhou, is participating in the 2026 Hainan International Coffee Expo, being held from 14–16 August 2026 at the Hainan International Convention and Exhibition Center in Haikou, Hainan Province.

Uganda’s participation at the Expo provides an important platform to showcase the country’s premium coffee to consumers in Hainan and to engage with Chinese coffee buyers, roasters, distributors and other key players across the coffee value chain.

The Ugandan booth is showcasing the quality, diversity and unique character of Ugandan coffee, while creating opportunities to connect Ugandan producers and exporters with potential partners in the Chinese market.

The joint participation of the Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General in Guangzhou reflects a coordinated diplomatic and commercial effort to promote Ugandan agricultural products in China, expand market access and forge new business partnerships with Chinese companies and industry stakeholders.

Uganda’s presence at the Expo further underscores the country’s commitment to strengthening the longstanding bilateral relationship between Uganda and the People’s Republic of China through trade, investment, agricultural cooperation and cultural exchange.

The Embassy and Consulate General are using the three-day event to highlight Uganda’s potential as a reliable supplier of high-quality coffee and to encourage greater engagement between Ugandan coffee enterprises and Chinese businesses.

Uganda is one of Africa’s leading coffee-producing countries, and coffee remains a major contributor to the country’s agricultural exports. Increasing the visibility and market presence of Ugandan coffee in China is therefore an important component of Uganda’s broader strategy to expand agricultural exports and deepen economic cooperation with the Chinese market.

Through its participation in the 2026 Hainan International Coffee Expo, Uganda seeks to build lasting commercial partnerships, strengthen people-to-people connections and position Ugandan coffee more prominently among Chinese consumers and businesses.

The Embassy of the Republic of Uganda in Beijing and the Consulate General of Uganda in Guangzhou remain committed to promoting Uganda as a destination for trade, investment and partnership, while advancing the country’s economic and diplomatic interests in China.
